Finally, back home and sit down after 1 week of heavy activities. CAC Freshmen Orientation Camp(FOC) & guard duty.

Guard duty is a disaster. My negligence and lack of real time information being pass down is the fault. Whatever comes comes, i don't want to think about it liao.
FOC, however is a fun camp. Let me recap what happen.

D-day minus 1 (Sun)

Rush over to west mall to get SP(secret partner) gifts, meant for our SP. Al and I suka suka choose a gift, and suka suka choose a wraping paper. Rush over to Boon Lay and gather up. Many new faces, but 1 familiar face caught my eye. Paul Lin, known him back since BMT.
We had introduction sessions, when we reach NTU. Yingying, Chee wee, Eric and yongfu are our seniors and group leaders. Group members are...lemme see... bao hui, yi min, liyi, xian hui, wing ki and wanting. Guys include me, AL, another alvin(alvin ho), daniel, clarence, peng jun, ping fei and chin wee. At night, we play games that seems to have the objective of orientating us to some parts of NTU. I as usual, try to siam lots of games, but i knew i couldn't siam all, and well, 1st game, end up wet liao. Haha. Had a bit of culture shock though cause a lot of people like siao on, keep cheering and cheering non-stop. Lucky my orientation group, Valus were not that siao on. HAHA.

D-day (Mon)

Official 1st day. We learnt mass dance. I tried to remember the moves by imaginating them as wushu moves, i thought it might help so no harm trying. Pool games was cancel due to wet weather. How sad. I would love to take part in pool games. Well, maybe next time.

Saw 2 more seniors attach to us, Nianya and Yulian.

Night-time, program is fright night. We were to enter a horror house and solve a mystery crime. A guy will pair up with a girl. Frankly speaking, i think i am afraid, and i am kinda superstitious as well. But, as a guy, i got my job to do. To assure the female companion that all is well.
So end up giving that cool face, make myself more alert to prevent unwanted scares and don't think too much. Well, go through everything well, and girl did not scream so i guess i did my job well.

D-day + 1 (Tues)

Mass dance in the morning again. I am wondering whether's it's a sort of 5bx for this camp. After that, we prepare for war! War games, by throwing water bombs at enemies base made of erm...toilet paper and 3 wooden poles. Haha. It was fun. After that, wash up, have lunch and is the start of amazing race. Starting from ntu, head to west coast, then mt faber, vivocity, chinatown area, settlers cafe in clarke quay, then singapore flyer before going to sentosa, which is our last stop. Everyone chipped in their part to in this game, be it navigating, be it solving obstacles. We reach sentosa. Everyone were tired. What i hate is the admin part, where we keep waiting and waiting to go into our respective chalet rooms. What's worse, the room was dam small and some of our bags were still misplaced. Cork up admin. Nevertheless, just bath and had to find 1 small corner and sleep.

D-day + 2 (Wed)

Had beach games. Didn't really took part in most of them. I'm sure the rest have fun. After all the beach games, we went back to NTU. Slept throughout the journey. At NTU we were allocate hostel rooms for us to sleep and put our belongings for the rest of the camp. Stayed at hall 5 if i remember correctly. Room is damn dirty, dusty and old, but who cares, as long as there's a shelter above our head and a good place to sleep.

At night, it's initiation night, where we will meet our secret partner(SP), blindfolded! We were not suppose to say ur real names and each of us are given a unique nickname. Mine was Ning Chaichen and my SP was Xiao qian. A couple from the story, qian nu you hun. Other nicks are spiderman and mary jane, which belongs to my best friend AL, and others like shrek and princess fiona, ryu and chun li. HAHA.

Had to hold my SP's hands while talking. During gaming sessions, had to hold her hands while walking as well, and the games involve sharing food, hugging, kissing. The seniors sure have their fun looking at us being "grilled", "torture", "tekan". It's a cold night, and me and my SP were drenched, thanks to the games apparently. Had to stay close to keep body temp warm. Lucky for us, we were given thrash bag to shield part of our bodies against the cool wind.

D-day + 3 (Thurs)

Nothing much happen in the morning. However, in the afternoon, all of us will dress up in a much more formal wear. It's time to look for our SP. For guys, we were suppose to enter rooms to look for our SP. The process ain't easy, 1 out of 8 rooms, and each room got its own tekan session. Well, i kinda cheated whereby i simply ask one of the programmers which room my SP is. Went into the correct room, took the challenge and found my SP, Xiao qian. Lucky for me, the "tekan" session was easy, and real lucky for me, i guess correctly who she is. You know, I was like shit, which one of them is her...but lucky me, i found her.

After everything, had a chat and knew her real name is Janie. Hmm, she say i was nice during the initiation night, so she decided to let me off, if not, the "tekan" session will be a tough one.

At night, had dinner at pariss internation @ marina square and then clubbing at DXO. Finally, back in hostel, and we had our guy's talk. Or maybe gossip. We actually rank the girls in our group by their beautiness.

D-day + 4 (Fri)

Move out from our hostel. Good bye hostel. Morning was discussion about the skit we will be doing at night. Afternoon, after lunch, rehearsal. That's this part of the skit, whereby me and AL will perform part of our dui da. The rest were shock and surprise that our dui da looks so real. Some are impress by it. Al say it's a good time to advertise and pull people to our wushu as well. Well, i think he manage to talk to some people and might pull them over after wushu competition.

After rehearsal, went home to put my stuff and take my army stuff in preparation for sat's guard duty. The rest who are there played cluedo. Something like an RPG game. I only manage to join them at the last hour when i get back to NTU.

At night, it's the finale. We had talks about CAC stuff and some of the cca. Watch videos and some presentation on what we did for the camp starting from day 0. And then we had the skit. Everything ended at 2300 hrs. Well, more friends made, we had fun and i'm sure all of us are tired. Lucky i went through army and it's tough training have made me endure the fatigue that are present in this camp, mainly lack of sleep. Haha.

Well, back to reality as i made my way back to my army camp.

Really hope to have more outings with this new group of friends even after FOC. Valus ROCKS!

Fucked up week eh? Yeah.

Dropped my army handphone. Same situation with my n73, the lcd screen crack. All phones down. Now i can only call and receive calls, that's all. I can't even see the sms. Will change a phone after i ord.

32 days to ord. I thought i can start to put down things and relax, but it never happens. Things just got busier and busier. This type of tempo always happen in camp, one situation after another. Never ending.

Did i lost myself through the busy work i engage into? I don't know. I felt nothing when i knew i will be going on leave and to enjoy some camp conducted by NTU. I felt nothing when i knew i going to university. So perhaps answer is a yes. Maybe when the dates draw nearer, i'll know.

My temper has been hot again and it simply makes my blood boils when i think about the same batch of colleagues in my camp. My colleagues, those nsf who were my batch were starting to play bastard here and there. I found myself doing the most work among all of them, slogging like a pig while they are sleeping like a pig in the bunk.

Being assigned duty has make me think so much to the extend that i start to compare and gei gao like this. Why? Cause I saw that most people who really did work kena most of the duties. What about slackers? Their names isn't up in the list.

Just would like to remind readers that my saturday is precious, especially the night wushu training. A few more training and i have to enter the competition. The only time i really get guidance is that sat night. What's worse, after the assign duty, i actually had to attend the NTU camp in the evening of the same day itself, so I won't feel perked up at all as i will be tired. What a spoiler.

Being kind, being good isn't a good thing after all. People take advantage and you lose out. this time round, i lost my integrity to pettiness, and jealousy. From now on, i'm only take care of my own things and things assign by my superiors to me. The slacker needs my help, he have to show me whether he's worthy of it. He is not worthy, forget it.

Learn to be assertive to show that you are not a sick cat.

That's what i come out with. Being a softie is no good. No good.

Well, after the major events of the month, I will hand over my duties properly, and act as their advisers. As to any other shit i have been ask to help out with, it's not my tai ji.

Whatever it is, I should sleep early, and wake up to a brand new morning tomorrow, throwing away all this nonsense to the past, and embrace the weekend.
